To everyone: Today is Mother’s Day.
To the guys: It is imperative that you act on this knowledge. I don’t care where you are; you must call your mom if you haven’t done so already. Trust me–if you don’t, you will never hear the end of it for as long as you inhabit the Earth.
To the girls: I’m sure you’ve already sent flowers, cards, spa/salon gift certificates, and so on. See, the problem with us guys, however, is that we’re not as in touch with our “inner woman” as you are–and for obvious reasons. Therefore, it takes a little more coaxing to get satisfactory results out of us, but once we learn, we don’t easily forget. Aww, heck… who am I trying to fool?
If you find yourself on the Northwest side of town Monday or Tuesday night of this week, drop by Barnes & Noble at Ina and La Cholla. I’m going to be logging some heavy study hours, and Barnes & Noble just so happens to be my drug of choice.
In light of finals week, I exhort you all to enjoy the following verse from 1 Corinthians chapter 10: “Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
