After threatening to leave Xanga for the last two years, I finally made good on my promise. (And, no, this isn’t an April Fool’s Joke—today is April 3, after all.) I haven’t had a chance to customize this site and make it my own yet, but that’s not too far off. I anticipate many late nights coming up this week; it’s a good thing my lovely girlfriend got me some high-octane Turkish coffee to recharge the fuel cells.
Many of you are undoubtedly familiar with Facebook, but do you think they’re worth $2 billion? Apparently, they’re looking for someone to buy them out, but they’re not willing to accept anything less than $2 bn. Since I’m not a Facebook user myself, I couldn’t tell you whether that sounds acceptable or outrageous, but I’ll let you know what I think after I get my U of A acceptance letter and the highly-coveted email address that accompanies it.
Well, this has certainly been a lackluster first entry, but it’s all I’ve got for now. My eyes are killing me after an entire day of staring at my tiny monitor at work, so I’m going to give the ojos some much-needed R&R. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think about the Xanga switcheroo.
I applaud you on the switch. It’s good to be your own man and not put up with the limitations of Xanga if you don’t have to. Right on.
So you changed journals, but how did you get all your past entries to come long too?? Sneeky guy!
Copy and paste is a wonderful thing, but it was a pain in the butt to copy over 65 entries from Xanga.
Ha ha, that is a hoot Matt, that you took ALL your old entries and copied them! SIlly Matt!!!
PS…I looked over all your photos from your trip…I have decided I am SO going!
WHAT’S WRONG WITH XANGA??? IT’S A WHOLE HECK OF A LOT BETTER THAN FACEBOOK, MYSPACE, AND LIVEJOURNAL FREAKING COMBINED!!! WordPress is a pretty clean-looking blog setup though… very nice.
Did Garret really just insult facebook like that? He and I need to have a talk…
Xanga is amateur. LiveJournal is amateur. Blogger is kind of cool. WordPress (and anything else you host yourself) can be completely customized, and that’s what I’m planning on doing. Movable Type is good, too, but I wanted to try WordPress this time around.
