An awful lot has happened since my last entry about two weeks ago, but I guess that’s my own fault for not updating more often. I’ll try to make this entry as succinct as possible, but bear with me, because I’ve got a lot to say.
Last week (the week of October 24) was our Share-a-thon fundraising drive at work. I had to be in at 3:00 AM Monday through Friday and 4:00 AM on Saturday. If any of you ever have to be at work early, I can now honestly say, “I know what you’re going through.” Let’s commiserate together and then have some coffee and take a nap, OK? (That’s over and done with now, and my sanity is gradually returning to me.)
This past Tuesday, November 1, I made the first big purchase of my life. That’s right, folks—my beat-up, multicolored Saturn will soon be someone else’s pride and joy. I pimped my ride, and now I’m driving a lowered El Camino with 20″ chrome spinner wheels. (Just kidding.) I actually bought a 2003 Mazda Protegé, and so far, I’m really happy with it. It’s a fun little car, that’s for sure. Photos are coming soon.
The car was clean when I bought it, but if you know me, then you know that “clean” takes on a whole new meaning. Therefore, I’ve been meticulously working on the car every day since I got it, and I’m making good progress. I rented a steam cleaner to handle the interior, and it’s almost like new again. I washed and waxed the outside, and yesterday, I was using my hood as a mirror. However, I have a renewed dislike for people who don’t know how to use an ashtray while driving. So, to the guy who got ashes on my car this morning: I will find you, and when I do, it’s not going to be pretty, pal.
Last night was Mae. It was a pretty good show, but some people thought Mae’s set was too long. I disagree. I paid good money to see Mae, so naturally, I’m going to want them to play for as long as possible. Mute Math was very good as well, but Circa Survive circa sucked. My one complaint is that Mae’s drums were too loud for my liking, so that detracted somewhat from my overall enjoyment. After all, the tour was called “The Music Is Much Too Loud,” and not “The Drums Are Much Too Loud.” But I digress. I had a good time.
My computer’s battery is in the process of dying a slow death, so this entry is going to have to be ended preemptively. Lucky you, right?
Update! Here are the photos that were promised above:
