How much did you pay for the new Radiohead album? Personally, I paid £5.00, which I think is a reasonable price for a digital download of 10 tracks. Considering that I’ve bought seven other Radiohead albums over the years, I feel the name-your-price approach is a fair compromise for artists and customers. Of course you’re going to have the jokers who think it’s cute to pay next to nothing, but I believe the equilibrium price will be more than competitive once everything is said and done.
It’s worth noting that the MP3′s are compressed at just 160 kbps, which is a little disappointing. It seems like the standard these days is at least 192 kbps, if not higher. The site, in fact, makes no mention of the quality before you download, so you’re pretty much in the dark on that one.
In sad subservience to this silly psychological survey, I surrendered the same sum.
